Birds of Peace........which didn't happen at the end of the day
Woke this morning to a lovely sunny morning, had breakfast then set off on today's journey it's not long before we have a lock to contend with, which we share with another boat, its a short hop before we are going through Leighton Buzzard, a picturesque market town with an unusual custom that takes place on the 23rd of May each year, a choir boy stands upon its head in front of the almshouse while the appropriate extracts from the donor Edward Wilkes are read.
We stop for a quick shop at the handy canal side Tescos by bridge 114, just a little bit further we top up with water and carry on through the town and back into open country side again.Dunstable downs with its White Lion http://www.hows.org.uk/personal/hillfigs/whips/whips.htm and the Chilterns are in the distance as we tackle a few more locks, we moor up opposite Pitstone Wharf which was a nice mooring till a tit who thought that we shouldn't moor in front of his home mooring banged into our boat at speed, an argument proceeded with him telling me he's a multi millionaire and for me to get on with my pitiful life, that really impressed me .........not
