Leaving Aylesbury basin

What a day yesterday , first part of the morning the sun was shinning then all of a sudden the sky went black and the wind started whipping up where we were moored was a construction site by the side of the basin and the wind started to pick up 6x4 boards and fling them through the air into the canal along with other debris. Also above us was a tall crane and the arm was swinging around in the wind, and then it stopped, this was the tail end of hurricane Bertha.

After that bit of excitement we had a quite afternoon just reading and chilling, before off to bed.So this morning we were up to a cloudy sunny day, we had breakfast then popped into the handy near Waitrose for some more provisions before we set of retracing our way down the Aylesbury arm.

The mooring at the basin are great there are a lot of visitor spots, a shower block, plenty of water points and definitely a place to visit, as said, the town is a few minutes walk with its shops, there is also a museum, Roland Dahl Museum, a cinema complex and a theatre all in walking distance.

So off we set, a couple of locks to negotiate before the rain starts again so we moor up and settle down again for the night, not much to write about as we are just going back down the canal which we came up a couple of days ago, not to worry new waters tomorrow see ya...
