A sudden stop

Nice sunny day again, left our mooring and started to make our way to Willington, we filled up again with water as Denise had put on the washing machine, and then onwards but as we approached Swakestone lock we noticed a lot of activity from Canal Trust employees who then told us that the lock would be closed until Friday due to he repairs they were carrying out. So nothing else to do but to moor up and stay put for the next few days.

Lucky we are alright for food, but we must be careful again with the water as the next water point is on the other side of the lock. Not really else to say about today except that at this lock is the start of the Derby canal which is now disused, and that at Swarkestone is where Bonnie Prince Charlie gave up his attempt for the throne of England before returning to Culloden in the year 1745.
