On the side where we are taking on water is a caravan site and we noticed these unusual bird boxes , they have used pieces of dining china as bird boxes.
Then the fun starts, as we approach Seend top lock where a selfish person has left his boat on the lock mooring space, the wind starts blowing and catches the front of Essendee and nearly smashes me into the side of the fore mentioned boat.
On top of this wind blowing, there is a a fishing competion going on and for the next mile there are anglers every couple of meters or so,I'm trying to steer the boat sideways and trying not to hit an angler or his rods plus we met a few widebeam boats who were also being blown of course it all made for an interesting morning.
We managed the next couple of locks and swing bridges with an ease of difficulty due to the high winds before we decided to moor at Semington.
Semington is a pretty village but use to be the junction of the Wilts and Berks canal which ran from here to the Thames but unfortunately fell into decline and these days it not at all navigable, but there are moves to try and reopen this canal.
