Pewsey

Another misty morning awaiting for the sun to shine, which later it does, We leave last nights mooring, and a lock is the first thing we encounter, here we take on some water.
The canal then wanders through the English countryside, and Woodlands and looks glorious on a sunny day like today, a few more locks including Adopters lock with it plaque dedicated to the donors  who helped get this canal restored to its former glory.

Bruce tunnel at 502yds is not one of the longest tunnels we've encountered on our.Journeys, but gives a change of view.

Notice the chains inside the lock which was used to hand pull the barge through the tunnel,in the days of horse drawn barges.

We reached the top of the summit  and now the locks will be taken us downwards direction,  we now pass Burbage wharf with its restored wooden wharf crane.

The next village we pass is Wotton Rivers we were going to moor here but all the visitors mooring are taken even though they are 24hrs moorings, this canal has a problem with boaters who are over staying the prescribed time, but hopefully we can stop on the way back.
Then we have marvelous views over the Vale of Pewsey and here we moor at Pewsey Wharf with its convinent pub The Waterfront, and as it a sunny day Denise treats us to a shandy in its canal side garden.
