Last night we had a long noisy thunder and lighting storm right above us, so we didn't sleep at all well. Anyway it was a much better morning today so of we set again, we go under Henley' s bridge and we go down the course which the organisers on the Henley regatta are starting to set up. We the pass temple island, the island includes an elegant ornamental temple (a folly) designed by the 18th century English architect James Wyatt and constructed in 1771.
Next the villages of Hambleden with it mill and mill house next to the lock.
And the village of Medmenham with its abbey, a charming agglomeration of building styles
And then we reach Temple lock where we are told that Marlowe the next village is having its regatta and to take care as we cruise this stretch, next we find ourselves right in the middle of the races again.
So we pass the next lock and moor up then take a walk into the town and have a look at all the activities that are taking place during the regatta, with lots of people dressed up in the blazers and trouser and the women in their best frocks, with lots of Pimms and champers being consumed, there is also a fun fair taking place, so every one is having a great time.
I forgot to mention that some little bug, insect or flying thing has bit Denise on her arm,and she has had a reaction with her arm swelling up, so we had to pay a visit to the chemist where they gave her some tablets to take and told us if it doesn't improve then she will have to go to the doctors.
